Gretsch_DJ on 12th Jan 10:
“To all of you who are wondering why 2 songs are in German and how it's not cool they aren't in Japanese:
Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand and Sie Liebt Dich are two songs that The Beatles did not originally want to make, which was against the wishes of the German division of EMI. They (G-EMI) thought the only way they could sell Beatles records in Germany was to have the songs recorded in German. The Beatles went on "strike" saying it was unnecessary, but they complied when George Martin asked them to. They recorded the songs on January 29th of '64. The songs are only in German not because of after-recording altering or by personal recording sessions, but by the grudging acceptance to record two songs for Germany-EMI so as to sell more records.”
